Six plaques mounted on the west wall of the Memorial's bunker honoring contributions of US Naval forces during the D-Day invasion. The USS Rich DE-695 plaque is mounted in the center of the bottom row, beneath the USS Nevada plaque.

Other plaques honor the services of (top row, from left to right) the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES), USS Augusta (CA-31), USS Nevada (BB-36), USS Texas (BB-35), and USS Arkansas (BB-33).
