Welcome to the USS Rich DE695 Survivor's Association website!

Please visit the Survivor's Association News page for the latest news!

This site is dedicated to preserving the history of a proud fighting ship and the experiences of the men who served - and died - aboard her during her service in World War II.

If this is your first visit to our site, I would like to ask you to please take a moment to read the Dedication page. Also, please sign the Guest Book before you leave and let us know if there is anything we can do to improve our site.

You may navigate through the various sections of this site by clicking on the appropriate text links located beneath the USS Rich DE695 image that appears at the top of every page. Clicking the USS Rich DE695 graphic will always return you to this page.

A great place to begin your visit is the What's New page. This page will always contain a list of recent changes to this site. Another great starting point is the Crew Roster page, where the entire USS Rich roster appears. A tremendous amount of information can be found by following the hyperlinks associated with many of the crew members names.

If you'd like to go directly to an index of all articles appearing on this website, from official histories and action reports to personal experiences written by crew members and family, please visit the article index page.

If you are interested in reunion information or the latest news regarding the USS Rich DE695 Survivors Association, please visit the Survivor's Association section.

Much of the historical material appearing here is reprinted from both volumes of The Last Voyage of the USS Rich by Edwin B. Black, a USS Rich Survivor.

The first volume was published in 1996 and the second in 1999 in order to preserve in permanent form, a record of the experiences of the brave men who served aboard the Rich, and those who gallantly came to her aid during the morning hours of June 8th, 1944.

Ed has graciously given his permission to reproduce the material here. For more information about Ed Black and The Last Voyage of the USS Rich, click the graphic at right.

Thank you for visiting. Enjoy your stay.
