Memo from Frank Moon, SEA/1

I was stationed on one of the rear guns and was knocked down three times but not badly hurt. I was picked up by a PT and then to a LST and taken to Plymouth, England, where I stayed until I and others were taken to New York. Got thirty days and then put on a large ship, USS Effingham, in Virginia. Picked up lots of Marines in California and took them to Okinawa in the Pacific. Then back to the States where I was discharged as a Petty Radar 3rd. I went to Long Island, NY, went back to my old work as a jockey and rode for a few years. Then took a job as security guard in Washington, DC--worked ten years to the day and retired. Later moved from Maryland to Hot Springs. AR.

Regards to everyone,
Frank
