A recent customer request: I need to provide a report to our vendor using all the columns I have set up in my report example. However, I just discovered this report is not including Components on a Production order. How do I set up the parameters to include these items?
We don’t include components in with regular sales because any sales or cost dollars associated with components are typically not completely accurate and inclusion of these dollars will inflate your sales or cost dollars since the total sales or cost dollars are typically on the assembly item. The solution was to create an additional dataset that was a copy of sales. This dataset allows the components to come through. We zeroed out sales, costs, and gm fields. This didn’t let them get inflated sales, cost or gm dollars and they could get components included on their reports.
